Ingredients
1 pound white mushrooms (this recipe does work well with other types of mushrooms such as cremini or portebello)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Sauteed White Mushrooms Method
- Clean mushrooms by gently wiping with a paper towel or using a mushroom brush(do not rinse with water)
- Slice into thick slices
- Add butter and oil to a pan and heat over medium high
- Add garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute)
- Quickly toss the mushrooms & soy sauce (do not do this ahead of time, this will remove too much moisture from the mushrooms)
- Add the mushrooms to the pan and allow to caramelize… the key here not to stir the mushrooms too much. This will allow for caramelization giving you a rich & yummy flavor
- Continue cooking until desired doneness (about 4 minutes)
