Sauteed White Mushrooms

Ingredients

1 pound white mushrooms (this recipe does work well with other types of mushrooms such as cremini or portebello)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tablespoon soy sauce

Sauteed White Mushrooms Method

  1. Clean mushrooms by gently wiping with a paper towel or using a mushroom brush(do not rinse with water)
  2. Slice into thick slices
  3. Add butter and oil to a pan and heat over medium high
  4. Add garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute)
  5. Quickly toss the mushrooms & soy sauce (do not do this ahead of time, this will remove too much moisture from the mushrooms)
  6. Add the mushrooms to the pan and allow to caramelize… the key here not to stir the mushrooms too much. This will allow for caramelization giving you a rich & yummy flavor
  7. Continue cooking until desired doneness (about 4 minutes)
